KLAC is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people involved in our programs. In line with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013, all Committee members, Age Managers, and Coaches over 18 are required to hold a current and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).We verify these checks through the NSW Office of Children’s Guardian, and a checklist outlining this process is available for reference. Parents are exempt when spectating or assisting their children behind the scenes, including at association carnivals. Additionally, we ensure that all officials at LANSW events, such as Zone and Region Championships, have current WWCCs as required by LANSW policies.
