KLAC CROSS COUNTRY CONTINUES SUNDAY 15th JULY

2018/2019 SEASON REGISTRATIONS

New season Registrations will open on 1st August, 2018

A link will be uploaded to the website to Register online.

Ku-ring-gai will hold a Registration Day on 26th August at the Scout Hut in Birubi Avenue, Pymble.

A Second Registration Day will be held ta Bannockburn Oval on 8th September.

Registration days are to collect Registration numbers and information. Registrations and payment is made online via the link that will become available on 1st August. New athletes will need to bring a birth certificate or passport as proof of age.

KLAC CROSS COUNTRY

When and Where      Our Cross Country season starts on Sunday 13th May 2018 and, with the exception of the day of the LANSW Cross Country Championships, will be held every Sunday until 5th August 2018.

Events will start at 3.15pm.

Distances                    U6                                                       525 metres

                                    U7 and U8                                          825 metres

Sprints Training 

Sunday Sprints Training With Clayton Kearney is on each Sunday at Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen

Time: 3pm

Cost: $15 per athlete

Monday 16th July  Sprints sessions at Bannockburn Oval will commence at 4pm

Wednesday 18th July – there will be no sprints session

Friday 13th July 9.30am session at Bannockburn Oval – Please contact Clayton on 0408 316 849 if you wish to attend.

Middle Distance Training

Middle Distance Training Sessions with Cath Miller will be on Wednesday 11th and 18th July at Bannockburn Oval

Time: 5.15pm

Cost $10 per athlete

2018 KLAC CROSS COUNTRY

When and Where      Our Cross Country season starts on Sunday 13th May 2018 and, with the exception of the day of the LANSW Cross Country Championships, will be held every Sunday until 5th August 2018.

On the first day events will start at 3.30pm at Bannockburn Oval, Bannockburn Road, Pymble.

After the first day events will start at 3.15pm.

Registrations              On the first day Little Athletes can register from 2.30pm.

                                    Course Orientation for runners and parents will start at 3.00pm

Winter season Fees   KLAC 2017/2018 registered Little Athletes  $10 by cheque or cash.

Unregistered new KLAC LAs must first register via the LANSW web site and pay on line the LANSW registration fee $58 then

a further $10 by cheque or cash to KLAC at Bannockburn Oval

LAs registered at other Centres $10 by cheque or cash.

Other unregistered LAs must first register through their home Centre.

Distances                    U6                                                       525 metres

                                    Parents may participate in the Open event at their own risk.

Notice AGM of Ku-ring-gai Little Athletics Centre Inc.

Our 2017/2018 AGM is to take place on Sunday 6th May 2018 from 3.00pm in the West Lindfield Sports Club, Highfield Road, West Lindfield. The AGM will be followed at 4.30pm by our annual Centre Presentations.  From 2.00pm there will be fun activities for the LAs and their siblings and refreshments for everybody.

Membership of the Centre includes our Executive Committee, Life Members of the Centre and all parents of children presently registered with Ku-ring-gai Little Athletic Centre. At the AGM we will hold our 2018/2019 Centre elections and approve our accounts for the past year. There are also important matters about which we believe our families should have the chance to present their views.

Our Constitution requires that nominations for Executive Committee positions and Motions be called for not less than 42 days prior to the AGM, that is Sunday 25th March.  As our contact with parents is much reduced once our season ends on Saturday 17th March please note this early call for Nominations and Notices of Motion and the following significant dates:-

Sunday 8th April Notices of Motion must be lodged with the Acting Secretary, Paul Duffell, by this date.

Sunday 15th April – Formal notice of AGM including Agenda and Motions will be issued.

Sunday 29th April –  Nominations must be lodged with the Acting Secretary, Paul Duffell, by this date.

As agreed when our new Constitution was accepted and confirmed by our current Executive Committee the make up of the Executive Committee for 2018/2019 will be as follows:-

i)                   President

ii)                 Vice President

iii)               Secretary

iv)               Treasurer

v)                  Registrar

vi)               No more than 15 General Committee Members.

Note:-

  • Positions i) to v) above are the Executive of the Centre. No Committee Member shall be permitted to hold more than one Executive position concurrently, although a person may hold an Executive position and a General Committee Member position at the same time.
  • Our Constitution and Regulations are available on our web site www.klac.org.au – Regulation 1 relates specifically to elections and voting and Regulation 2 to Executive and General Committee portfolios, roles and responsibilities,
  • Most General Committee Members take responsibility for a portfolio but some General Committee members can be appointed without attachment to a specific portfolio.

Saturday morning competition begins at approximately 8.45am. This is dependent upon when the equipment is finished being set up. If you are available to assist with set up please arrive at 6.45am. There is a large amount of equipment to be put out for events to go ahead so the more people who can assist the quicker this will happen.

There is a Parent Help sign on table set up each Saturday Morning for parents to sign up to assist for the morning and be checked off the volunteer list if they have signed up via the Parent Help Sign Up emailed out.

This Saturday will be Modified Week 2 of the 6 Week program found HERE.

SEPTATHLON – SATURDAY 24th FEBRUARY

SATURDAY 24th FEBRUARY – SEPTATHLON

SEPTATHLON involves each child competing in 7 events, both track and field; Under 6 athletes will compete in 6 events only.Points based on performance are awarded for each event. All participants receive a special Septathlon ribbon showing their points score. These ribbons will be distributed 1-2 weeks later. One parent from each family with a child competing will be needed as an official.

 Parents need to report for duty by 8:15am.

The warm-up for athletes will be held at 8:15am with the first events to start promptly at 8:30am.
