Ku-ring-gai Little Athletics Centre Inc.

Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given of Ku-ring-gai Little Athletics Centre Inc.Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on 2nd May 2021 from 3.00pm in the West Lindfield Sports Club, Highfield Road, West Lindfield.

The AGM will be followed at 4.30pm by our Annual Presentation.

Membership of the Centre includes our Executive Committee, Life Members of the Centre and all parents of children presently registered with Ku-ring-gai Little Athletic Centre.

At the AGM we will hold our 2021/22 Centre elections and approve our accounts for the year ended 31 March 2021. There are also important matters about which we believe our families should have the chance to present their views.

The composition of the Executive Committee for 2021/22 will be as follows:

i) President
ii) Vice President
iii) Secretary
iv) Treasurer
v) Registrar
vi) No more than 15 General Committee Members.

Note:

Positions i) to v) above are the Executive of the Centre. No Committee Member shall be permitted to hold more than one Executive position concurrently, although a person may hold an Executive position and a General Committee Member position at the same time.
Our Constitution and Regulations are available on our web site www.klac.org.au – Regulation 1 relates specifically to elections and voting and Regulation 2 to Executive and General Committee portfolios, roles and responsibilities,
Most General Committee Members take responsibility for a portfolio but some General Committee members can be appointed without attachment to a specific portfolio.

Other matters to noteNominations must be:

In writing – Nomination forms are available from the Secretary.
Signed by two individual Members over the age of 18.
Certified by the nominee (who must be a Member) expressinghis or her willingness to accept the position for which he or she is nominated.
Delivered to the Centre not less than seven days before the date fixed for the AGM.

Youth Champs Update: (March 27/28)

U13-U17 (LANSW Youth State Championships)

The Youth State Championships on the 27/28 March 2021, will be conducted under the Little Athletics Rules of Competition regardless of age. This includes the U15 and U 17 age groups.

Little Athletics NSW currently have no additional restrictions other than already mentioned in the Rules of Competition regarding footwear.

Training Schedule week commencing  Monday 1st February at Bannockburn Oval.

General Training is for all age groups on Wednesday 3rd February  4.30 to 6pm

Specialist Training Schedule for U9’s and above:

Monday 1st February 
Hurdles 4pm
Walks 4pm

Important points regarding KLAC Training:

Specialist Training Schedule for U9’s and above:

  • On arrival for any training sessions athletes must sign in at the table located near the canteen. Attendees will be temperature scanned and have their their name recorded. If all clear they will have a paper band put on their wrist. Athletes will not be allowed to participate unless they have been signed in at the desk.
  • Parents are not allowed to be in any of the event areas during training.
  • Specialist coaching sessions are for athletes in the 9yrs age group and above. The General Training sessions on Wednesdays are for all athletes, especially U6 to U8.
  • Parents – if your child is in any way unwell please do not send them to training. If in doubt, sit it out!
  • NB: always check our website for late updates before travelling to any training sessions. Wet weather and coach unavailability at late notice are two examples of factors that can impact sessions at short notice.

 

Ku-Ring-Gai Little Athletics Centre has been given a much-needed funding boost for its upcoming season thanks to a $4,200 grant from Coles.   KLAC  is one of 158 grassroots sports club across Australia to share in $521,000 for sports equipment from the latest round of the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund.

General Training will commence from 21st September, day and time to be confirmed. Sprints will start in two weeks time on Mondays, session time to be confirmed.

If all clear they will have a paper band put on their wrist. Athletes will not be allowed to participate unless they have been signed in at the desk.

2020/21 Season commences Saturday 12th September

Competition commences Saturday 12th September at Bannockburn Oval, Pymble.

Start time will be 10am on 12th, 19th, 26th September and 3rd October to  accomodate for athletes still participating in winter sports.  From 10th October onwards, start time will be 8.30am.

We will be using a modified week 1 program as below:

2020/21 Season Registrations Now Open

2020/2021 SEASON REGISTRATIONS

Ku-ring-gai will hold Registration Day at Bannockburn Oval on Saturday 5th September for information and to collect registration numbers. Surnames A-J from 2pm to 3pm.  Surnames K-Z from 3pm to 4pm.  Payment must be made online prior to collecting numbers at registration days.

The First Day of Competition for the 2020/21 Season is Saturday 12th September at Bannockburn Oval.  Start time will be 10am on 12th, 19th, 26th September and 3rd October to  accomodate for athletes still participating in winter sports.  From 10th October onwards, start time will be 8.30am.

Registration days are to collect Registration numbers and information. Registrations and payment is made online via the site above.

Notice is given that an Annual General Meeting of members of Kur-ring-gai Little Athletics Centre Inc (“KLAC”) will be held at West Pymble Bicentennial Club at 3:00pm on Sunday, 5 July 2020.
